Mats Jonmarker began his sports career in Europe as a member of the national teams of golf, hockey and soccer and in 1985 he joined the PGA as a professional golf player. Mats is the CEO and founder of MTJ Sports, a company able to offer high-quality products, systems and services in the sport sector. MTJ is one of the leading suppliers of indoor and outdoor sports surfaces and equipment in the United States and has just signed a licensing agreement with WSBSPORT for all of Midwest America.
Mats tell me something about yourself and your passion for the sports world
I was born and raised in Sweden in 1961. At age 20 I left for 4 Years School of Business at Weber State University, Ogden, UT, USA. Moved to Chicago (Kewanee) in 1986 and married for 29 years with 3 children all former athletes in school. I travelled around the world since early age, and later in international business. I follow all types sports with great passion. Like to work out on regular basis.
My passion for sports is simple to me! It is great for health and develops good social activities with friends and family at all ages. That is what we also promote at MTJ Sports – to develop more sports and recreation opportunities for people of all ages.
Why did you decide to found a company like MTJ Sports?
The key questions in our business is always WHY? That’s how Steve Jobs identified Apple 20 years ago. MTJ Sports stands for creating more opportunities at higher quality for people to participate in sports and recreation.
